The 25 Pains of Kennedy Baines
For 15-year-old Kennedy Baines, life is a
series of pains: she broke her little sister's ankle, she suspects that her mother had an affair, her boyfriend is nice, but maybe a bit too
nice ... Why can't life just be full of romance, like in her favourite book, Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice?
But things are looking up. Her mom's friend from England has arrived for a visit, accompanied by Colin--her gorgeous, 18-year-old son. This summer might just
turn out better than Kennedy expected.
Hilarious, honest and suspenseful, The 25 Pains of Kennedy Baines deals with typical dangers faced by teens today: cyber-stalkers, cougar attacks, and
a hot English guy sleeping on the sofa bed.

Excerpt
“Kennedy! Kennedy!”
In her dream, someone is calling her name, someone’s in trouble. Graham is giving her a hickey, around her belly button.
It isn’t a good feeling, but he is going to kiss her soon and is turning into Ryan Slaters in grade twelve, the hunky school president,
which makes it all right.
“Kennedy!” she hears again and is reluctantly pulled awake.
It’s more of an angry yell than a call for help, she thinks now. And not a nice way to wake up.
“Who’s yelling?” groans Miko.
“I think it’s my mom,” says Kennedy. “Go back to sleep.”
She gets up before the yelling wakes Sarina too. No, Sarina left, didn’t she? Kennedy looks at the cat sleeping in the jumble of
covers on her empty bed.
“Kennedy!” she hears again. Sounds like it’s coming from the backyard. God, what could have happened?
